This sale is for a brand new can motor upgrade kit for the AHM Rivarossi articulated Big Boy 4-8-8-4 or Challenger 4-6-6-4 locomotives. This kit will replace the early square motor or round motor mounted in the cabs of early AHM Rivarossi Big Boy and Challenger engines. This motor kit WILL NOT WORK in the newer versions of Rivarossi locomotives that have a gold colored flat can motor mounted inside the boiler. If you don’t see a motor inside the cab, then it is inside the boiler. This motor kit WILL NOT FIT other Rivarossi steam engines. If you need a motor kit for other AHM Rivarossi steam, please see my other auctions. 

The motor measures 32mm long x 20mm high x 15mm wide, the motor shaft is 2mm in diameter and it is 6mm long. With no load at 12VDC, the motor draws 80ma and develops 9550 rpm. This motor will start turning smoothly on 1 volt DC. The stall current is 1 amp, this motor is DCC compatible. This is a very high torque, heavy duty motor.. With this motor kit installed, your locomotive will have smoother starts, better slow speed operation, and reduced operating noise.
